The biggest excuse creatives give me ALL THE TIME is that they aren't good at business, organization, management, or anything involving the left side of the brain.

Believe me, I understand where you are coming from. I'm very much a creative. But you have to realize something. The world, or the music industry, or your mortgage payment doesn't care.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely believe in playing to your strengths, but sometimes I believe artists can use their 'creativity' as an excuse to not do the hard things. Some artists want to believe that if they just float by, one day a slick suited business person will come swooping in, save them, and make them a star.

It almost never happens like that.

It all starts with YOU. YOU are responsible for your business. And if it fails, it's your fault.

Don't let that freak you out though! Let that motivate you to get up in the morning and do the hard things, even if you don't feel like it. Let that motivate you to learn new things you didn't know and to eventually build a great team around you to really make a difference in the world.

You are capable of so much more than you think!
